    I hate recipes that require separating eggs. Having had my own chickens for years, I feel like every egg is a precious labour of love for my hens and I don’t squander any of them.     A New Direction for 2021

    I think that I have had an epiphany. I think that I have just finally found a “job/life description” that fits where my heart tells me that I want to go. Let me explain… I have been a Registered Dietitian for 35 years. In that time, I have done homecare, inpatient hospital care, outpatient care, private practice, long term care, back to private practice and now as an author and speaker. In all those roles, I have tended to lean towards caring for the concerns of adults, particularly “mature” adults.     2020 -the good, the bad and the very bad.

    What a year this has been! Most people are giving it the bum’s rush – out you go and good riddance! But for me, it’s actually been a very mixed year with some awesome highs and some real challenges. When 2020 started, I wrote the word KICKASS! on the front page of my planner (yes, I’m old school – paper planner) and was fully expecting to have the best year of my life. The book was over half written. Cancer treatment was firmly in the rearview mirror and my hair was even starting to straighten back out from its crazy post-chemo curliness.
